What age did your child start staying overnight places???

So my question for all of you is, how old was your child when they first stayed overnight somewhere...such as at Grandparents house? My daughter is 18 months old, and has not stayed the night anywhere. We are expecting our second child in September, and my husband is pushing for me to let her stay at the grandparents so we are able to have some time to ourselves before craziness of two kids. I know that he has a point and it really is important, but I just have a very hard time letting go. I am very nervous for some reason, and am afraid that she will be upset or something and that our parents wouldn't call us if she really was very upset. Am I just a crazy mom that is hanging on too tight or are there others that are in the same boat? I just need some advice on how to make this process easy for all of us! Thanks everyone:)

I agree with Michelle, it might be easier for your daughter to sleep in her normal bed. I left my son at my parents' house for a night when he was about 10 months old. (we had put him down while visiting and then came there for breakfast the next day, so it really was just overnight!)

He's 2 now and has stayed several nights away from us, I can't remember exactly, but probably a few at my parents and a few more at my parents-in-law.

Just do it and have a good time! It will be harder for you than for her, almost for sure. :)

My 5yr old had to before a year because I had to go to a wedding. He did fine and could have cared less. I was a wreck but he did amazing.

I would start by you and hubby going out maybe stay in a hotel make it a real fun time and have the inlaws watch at your home they can put her to bed in her own bed and she should be fine.
