what age did your child start walking???

My daughter took her first steps at 14 months but didn't start walking all of the time until 15 months. I felt the same way as you because all of my friends children started walking earlier... If your daughter's pediatrician isn't worried than there is nothing for you to worry about. They do things when they are ready!

I have a family of early walkers.
My SD was 11 months.
My son was 10.5 months. He cruised furniture at 7 months.
My daughter just turned 11 months yesterday and we're still waiting on her. Although a few days ago I got her to take one step towards me. ;) She cruised furniture at 9 months.
But don't be discouraged some children don't walk until around 18 months. I think some *can* but are just content with their current method of transportation (ie: crawling, cruising).
My SD was universally rounded in her fine motor skills, gross motor skills and cognitive skills.
My son was advanced in his gross motor skills. His fine motor skills were a little behind. His cognitive skills were a bit slower than my SDs. She's always been more clear in language skills but my son is a year yonger than her and learned his ABCs, numbers, shapes, colours etc. by his 2nd birthday. She is 3 1/2 now and still struggles with them.
My SD could climb up on furiture and out of her crib at 9 months but my son who crawled at 6 months (she crawled at 8 months) couldn't climb up on furniture until 18 months.
My daughter is very advanced in her fine motor skills and cognitive skills but is way behind my other two in her gross motor skills.
So they're all so different!!! Don't be discouraged if they are a little late on the curve in one area because they are usually ahead in another area. :)

walking starts at all different ages. I was about 9 months, my son was 10 months. My sister was 19 months, her daughter was 11 months and my mom was 18 months. Unless the doc gives you a reason to worry, then don't. Before you know it not only will she be walking, but running and climbing. Every child does things at different times.

My oldest was furniture walking at 6 months and running around on his own by 7 months. My middle was walking at 13 months (12 months adjusted) and my baby started walking at 16 months (14 months adjusted) although she knew how to walk at 14 months when she took her first 5 steps but would not do it again until 2 months later.

Both my girls (now 2 & 4) started walking at 9mo. My nephew however didn't start walking until almost 18mo (he's 2 now also), and he never really crawled it was more of a monkey crawl on his butt and fists. I attribute my children walking that early to not having given them any bouncers/confining toys and to having 2 cats around, which they wanted to chase. My nephew was always in a bouncer or propped up with pillows on the couch, and rarely allowed to play on the floor since his mother couldn't reach the floor very well.
I wouldn't worry about it. Just watch out, my friend's kid took his time getting ready to walk, then one day just decided it was time and took off running (no cruising around furniture and no warning to baby-proof the house from a walking toddler).

My son will be 16 months next week and he just started walking. He'll walk between people if they are not too far apart and they're cheering for him, but he definitely still prefers crawling for getting around the house. It's kind of strange when it seems like all the other babies are walking at 10, 11, or 12 months.
