Hi! I work full time from home and have an 8 months old at home and my spouse works out of the home. I have recently hired a nanny who is working out great so far, she is great with my son, and seems eager. I was very diligent in my hiring / interviews and was very clear about my expectations of doing house chores and actually used the example..."the movie Sex In the City Part 2, Carrie hires an assistant...." I said I wanted someone who would look at the whole picture, become part of the family and just do what needs done when the baby is asleep. I also did a lot of research, so Let's be honest, being paid to watch an 8 month old is NOT hard work and she is being paid well. During his nap times / down times, she does light house chores, however, I feel she could be doing more so for ex. I thought of creating a list of things to get done during the day if possible and things to look for. we live in a small house so there isn't much chores to do, I thought of asking her to keep inventory of the baby's food, necessities and going to the store once a week to get what he needs. I need to know if that is too much or well within the my 'rights'...I want to keep her happy and I am committed to making this work. Would love feedback on this please. Would like to hear what your nanny's do, how much you pay them, etc. Anything that will help me because my job is getting more demanding and I really need someone to TAKE CHARGE. Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond,
