What are REAL moms thoughts on taking your kids to fast food resturants?

I posted this earlier as a legitimate question and all I got was evil. I would really appreciate true responses from REAL moms.

I saw a post this morning that got me thinking about this. What are your views on fast food. I will be honest I take my girls ages 4 and 2 1/2 once maybe twice a month. They always get either milk or juice and normally eat the fruit or yogurt before the nuggets/burger and fries. They know it is a treat and isn't something that we do all the time. I usually end up bringing half of their food home to our dog because they love giving it to her and she thinks it is great. I normally get grilled chicken with a salad and they also eat some of the salad. I will admit I do indulge in an ice coffee but that is probably my biggest food weakness. I am just curious what other moms think.

I started this post and I am closing it because it started as a legitimate question for moms because I was curious. However, thanks to our resident troll it has become a post of threats and insults. I do not come to this site to be insulted by a 15 CHILD who has nothing better to do with her time and I don't think others do either. Yes I have responded to her posts but this morning I gave her a compliment and she came back at me with insults. If that is the best she can do when she is given a compliment then I feel bad for her but I think I actually feel worse for her parents because no one wants a child that is as mean and hateful. I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing to mean for her to say or do which scares me for her family. At this point I will tell others to ignore her and I will not allow myself to get caught up in her evil, filthy, rude, cruel behavior. I am better than that. REPEAT AFTER ME...NOT MY CIRCUS! NOT MY MONKEY1

Once in awhile is not a problem, especially if (like myself), the healthier choices are made...Salads, fruit, etc. :)

It's a term of endearment... or a term of condescension... Take your pick.

Everything (within reason) in moderation! I don't have an issue with it.

Angela I wasn't worried about it but thanks. We don't do it in excess, like I said once or twice a month. We all prefer the good home-cooked meal, meat, potatoes/pasta/rice and a veggie and sometimes dessert but that could be a "real" dessert or it could be fruit or graham crackers all depends on what mamma feels like doing.

It's not a healthy thing if you do it a lot we take our kids probably once a month somewhere maybe for a treat but that's about it otherwise they gethome-cooked meal's it's only if you take them excessively for takeout food that it's not good for them otherwise nothing to worry about

Yep, even at home my daughter will always want vegetables with whatever else she has suggested for dinner. Even why I offer to make oven fries or something, nope it's vege's.

My girls are very active. They are tall and skinny like their dad was when he was younger now he is less active and has a bit of a belly but it happens as we age. I also cook healthy most of the time so it isn't like they/we are eating junk all the time. Even at their ages they know that it is a treat and not something we do all the time. It is funny because I put all their food out and they always eat the fruit or yogurt first so they understand good choices. Everything in moderation is truly the key. Like I said just curious what other moms think.

As a mom, I would take the kids once every couple of weeks or maybe another time or two a month to eat at a fast food place but we did not have the choices of the fruits or yogurt to go with it back then as it as the burger, fries, and soda but I got milk all the time. I think today taking them for a treat is okay every once in a while but to do so all the time is not healthy nor is it showing them how to eat things at home. Once you start to take a kid to get it all the time, they expect it like anything else you give in to give them all the time.

My husband takes the children every 2nd Thursday night when I work. I believe everything in moderation. When I cook at home it's healthy so I don't see getting take away every couple of weeks a problem. My children are also very active and skinny so it's not as if I am feeding them junk when they are already obese.
