What are some of the best ways to ween my son off his pacifier?

Zuri turned 6 months old yesterday and I hear and have read that this is the best time to start weening him off of his pacifier. I have began to notice how much he is attached to it when it comes to naps and sleeping...if anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated :D

I say, if you really want to get rid of it, start by cutting back using it during the day. Try to only give it to him during nap time and at night. Once he gets the hang of that, take it away during nap time, and then eventually altogether.

If you want to get rid of it altogether real soon, just pick a day and throw it in the garbage. It might be tough for a few days, but it works. But really, if he needs it that much, during the teething stage is probably not a good time to get rid of it.

I didn't take the pacifier away from my twin girls til about 3 weeks before turning 2. We just took them away and it was a week of super minor adjustments. I wouldn't have taken them away from MY girls any earlier cuz they were super mouthy babies and the pacifier was a lot safer than a lot of other things they tried to stick in their mouths....
