nothing will work unless your body is actually ready for labour... I tried everything with my 2nd baby, from sex, bumpy car rides, nipple stimulation, castor oil, orange juice, long walks, spicy food, trampoline. but my son was still 9 days over due, induced with one dose of gel, waters broken and 4 bags of pitocin..

I would not try to induce labor on your own. I know that the end of pregnancy can be uncomfortable, but allowing nature to take its course is the best and safest course, unless your doctor decides there is a problem. Due dates, even with ultrasound can be somewhat inaccurate and late pre-term babies can have more complications. In fact, the American OB Association is recommending that voluntary inductions or c-sections should not ever be done prior to 39 weeks.
