What are your electronic rules?

My children are 11 and 9. They both love their electronics and I feel like we limit their use during the week, but maybe not enough. So I'm wondering what are your rules for electronics during the week? Do you use them as an incentive for getting chores done?

Electronics are a fun thing and should be allowed for a short time during the week. My son was very into his video games and he had to learn to turn it off when we had things to do. He got to a point where he actually learned to control it on his own. My thing is that homework, chores and other important activities and family come first. Then time on the electronics unless its something to do with school work then by all means they get to have time for that. During the week I would allow 30 minutes a night at this age set.

I have two daughters ages 5 and 6 and they love playing on the computer and on their wii. I think for their ages the wii isn't one of their best ocupation idea's but I am willing to let them have some time on it. My husband Robbie had bought the wii before our oldest daughter Emilie passed away in the Sandy Hook Shooting and she was happy to use it. Now we only have little kids and I am limiting their times to about 20-30 minutes per night. If my kids were older like yours are, I would limit electronic's to about 1 to 2 hours.
