Are you satisfied with your brand? Any problems with the formula you are using? Have you tried other brands? when did you start using formula? how old is your child and how often do they have formula?

Moreover the doctor says all the formulas are alike, so there's no need to change it as it might create problem for him and he takes about 3 to 4 feeders a day, waiting for the reply........

I use S26 Gold for my son..... I don't think i'm satisfied with this formula though i've used it since my child's birth and he's 3 months old now..... The reason is that he's constipated and hardens his stomach because of gases and cries a lot, he passes his stool after 4 days only once a day, for that the child specialist i'm visiting has given infacol drops for his gastric problem, am i doing the right thing?

My daughter is also on lactose free but we use parents choice (WalMart) store brand. Same as all the others just way cheaper. She is almost 4 months and eats a lot like 8 oz every 3 hours. We tried many different formulas after I went back to work when she was 2 weeks old and this is actually the only thing she can keep down. I have used this with all of my Children.

my baby is 2 months old now.. i gave birth thru CS and doc gave my baby S26 infant formula.. after two days, i breastfed her but her stool became loose and greeny.. doc recommended S26 lactose free.. it made her stool as hard as stone and she was bloating with much gas.. i fed her back with s26 just to observe... her stool went back to smooth but greenish. i tried mixing her milk, the lactose free and the infant formula, she was then constipated and bloating! thought it was normal but after reading your comments, its found to be a problem.. i never mentioned this to her pedia coz i thought it is normal.. yesterday, i bought s26 gold (sucrose free) and i gave her the first bottle this evening.. i'll observe then if she's okay with the new formula.. if not, maybe i'll try another brand..

I have used Karicare gold with my last two and had no problem at all... I remember using s26 and having problems with constipation.. Never heard my baby scream and in so much pain,,

[deleted account]

Both Karicare and s26 are available in Australia. Also boucotted Nestle because of their unethical history with infant formula

It's surprising how many different brands of formula there are out there. But where is this Karicare Gold & S26 formula sold? I haven't seen it in stores here, I live in Ontario.

I am using Nestlé Good Start since the day I brought my son home from the hospital. He wasn't latching properly to my breast and in the early days, it took a while for my breastmilk to come in, so I was supplementing with formula . I have found no problems with this brand, and I quite like it. I find it to be the best brand of formula I've tried. I have also tried Heinz Nurture Infant Formula with Omega 3 & 6, and found he kinda got a little constipated from it, so I asked my doctor about it and he recommended switching back to his regular formula and to stick one brand, and have been continuing with goodstart ever since. My son is 3 months old and he takes 4-5oz bottle every 3 hours, and is healthy as can be.

i've been using formula since my son was 10days old .. he's now 7.5months old and doing really well.

however in that time we've had to change his formula quite a lot due to what we thought was reflux (hv say no as he looks healthy and is gaining weight) and because he suffers from a lot of wind!

he started off on cow and gate infant formula, then we decided to switch to the hungrier version .. but he got stomach ache and seemed a bit colicy at times .. i switched him to aptamil after being recommended it. then my hv suggested i put him on aptamil easy digest since its better for their wind as its a thicker formula ... he's now been on that since 4months old. although he still suffers from wind (teething and its making it worse .. so im putting gripe water in his bottles) and throws up a lot ... its no where near as bad as it used to be .. and he's on the 50th percentile for his weight .. so he's doing fine.

he is currently having 3 bottles of formula a day (about 6/7am, 2pm and 6pm) as well as solids and i make him about 7-8oz he had about 18oz in total yesterday.

Quoting Nicky:

I use S26 with my son, I also used this with my first son, ive had no problems with it except that i think that because he is now on step 2 he is a bit constipated, once I use the last 4 tins i might switch back to step one and see if that helps him.

Hi Nicky...s26 has been known to cause constipation and dehydrates the lil ones...i tried it with my lil boy b4 karecare gold plus...I've spoke to lots of mums that had the same problem  with s26..

karecare gold + is great...had no problems with it wotsoever and has been the best brand of formula for my lil boy who took to it straight away when i was whinning him off breast milk..didnt cause him any discomfort or gas and he never got constipated from it...he was very regular..he basically pooed after every meal he had and wee alot too...

s26 Gold - caused a bit of constipation when she first started on it (although apparently a common problem for formula in general) because it has the best replication of breastmilk apparently. I let my friends do the research and testing and just used what they found to be the best and it worked well for us :)

I started Lacey on Emfamil+A. However after every feed she was very gasey and irritable. So I was told that Goodstart was a good brand. I switched her over to Nestle- Goodstart Cultures (B lactis). Very good. Keep her on it since as it seems to be the best brand of formula for us!

Currently my daughter is on NAN HW One, its hypoallergenic, but these might change based on her test result our Pediatrician recommended AL110 a soya based milk formula.

Hi, with my daughter from birth i used SMA and found that it made her constipated and was told to try S26GOLD and find it is great. The constipation went after a week of using it.

My son is on Enfamil Gentlease. He is also breastfed, but I sadly don't produce enough for him. We tried Enfamil Lipil, Similac Soy, and he was having horrible gas. We went to Gentlease and it all went away. We also tried the store brand as they were quite a bit cheaper, found out that the Toys R Us brand didn't work as well. The Target brand works pretty well, but it bubbled a lot when mixed, which Gentlease does not at all. And Enfamil doesn't smell as bad, haha!

We started him on it at about eight weeks. He is now six months. I try to exclusively breastfeed, but if he is still hungry, I give him a bottle or two. I also mix it with his cereal. If we are traveling, he uses the formula.

I hope that helps!
