Definately time to re-evaluate the diet, cut out processed foods, read labels, engage your child in activities that are appropriate for his energy levels. This could range from quieter art classes that require concentration or karate that requires self-discipline, to more athletic like basketball or swimming. Good luck!

i have a narly three year old who is like this, and i my self is at a loss as what to do. i told my dr and she refferred me to a behavioural specialist and they told me the reason she is the way she is, is because she working at a much higher age level than what she should be, so need more challanging things. i got things for my daughter for an highter age group and she seems to settle a bit more, your son is at the age now though that he can be tested for adhd/add/odd. ask a health perfessional. i hope this might hellp x

How is he in school? My son was the same exact way. Very smart child, but wouldn't sit still or would act out verbally that would disrupt those around him. He is the youngest of 5 children, and I always knew in my heart there was something different. Once he started school and was struggling on a daily basis, I knew I was the only one that could help him through. I took him to specialist, who diagnosed him with ADHD. Very mild form of, but thank God I didn't ignore this. In 1 months time he went from almost failing school, to the top of the class. His teacher was amazing in this in helping me to get him through. He is taking a very low dose of medication, but what a change in his daily behavior. Go have your son checked. It won't hurt you either way. It will ease that worry you suffer everyday.

I suggest you take him to his pediatrician for diagnosis. In the mean time, cut out all sweets, including juices and for drinks, give just milk (it has a calming effect). Good luck.

Is this causing a problem for him at school? Have you spoken to his teachers about it?
