My daughter is six and in that obnoxious phase. But hers seems to be a little worse than usual. I'm struggling with treating her kindly, as are her siblings and schoolmates. I seem to use up all my patience with her personality quirks so when she DOES do something wrong, I'm so frazzled I just blow up. Not good. She isnt badly behaved, and its not like I don't understand my kids will be different, and sure its a phase, but how do I help her when shes making everyone she likes avoid her? Or flat out treat her badly?

sure, there is "bullying", but how can I expect other six year olds to act with a level of tolerance and compassion that even I as her mother am struggling to find. No, I can't blame the other kids.

They seem like a decent bunch, merely dealing with their own lack of coping skills as six year olds.

My 6 year old does the same thing. She is VERY obnoxious, talks back, sassy and can be very mean. She's especially mean to her little sister.

I blow up at her all the time. Then I feel bad and guilty. What you can do is start a rewards chart. That's what I did. Find out WHY she is so mean to her friends too. Ask her. Maybe they make fun of her? Maybe there is some bullying going on? This is just speculation......

Anyways good luck!
