Nothing. He is 3 months old. They should be able to support their own heads, sit up with assistance or non at all, and have tongue thrusting before they are ready for food. Usually this happens around 6 months old. Even at that time it is just for practice and should not be their sole source of nourishment. I am echoing what the other ladies are saying. Growth spurts tend to make them eat more frequently, and consume more in one sitting.

My daughter was showing all the signs for food around six months, and was very interested in what we were eating. I did offer her the appropriate foods for her age, but she still really wasn't ready for food until about 8 months.

Babies naturally cluster feed at this age. He's probably just on a growth spurt. Feed him his formula more frequently if he won't take a bigger feed.

Waiting until 6 months is best if you can. Some docs will say 4-6 months. I wouldn't listen to anyone that says under 4 months.
