Also, pear juice....NOT apples, they are actually binding. But I agree with Lisa, you have to figure out WHAT is constipating in the first place. Also, just plenty of fluids.

I really liked the prunes in plain organic yogurt. You get the prunes to loosen everything up and get stuff moving, and the yogurt to keep everything balance.

What's making her constipated?

Don't ADD something. REMOVE that which is making her constipated.

Also, if they find something that works, they need to keep giving it to her on a daily basis. Keep things moving! :) Don't give her prunes to make her poop and then wait for her to get constipated again before giving her more.

Switching from cow's milk to fortified rice milk (somewhere between 1-1 1/2 yrs old.) worked miracles for my daughter. She would strain, bleed and cry. I had tried everything else...prunes, corn syrup, juice, you name it. This was the ONLY thing that worked for her. She was like a whole new child! Around age 3, I was able to switch her back to regular milk

Just an additional piece of info that can be helpful, but this is for diarrhea. It is the B.R.A.T diet.

B= bananas
R= rice
A= apples
T= toast

also sweet potatoes are good for it I think.

Give pear juice, and water. Avoid more than 1 banana per day, have her eat oranges and grapes. Plenty of brocolli, how much milk is she drinking and cheese? Both can be binding. Also bread, and other carbs.
