what can you take for a head cold when pregnant?

You can take ginger root (under 2 grams), elder leaf/flower and/or berry (Sambucus nigra). German chamomile is good for any irritations of the GI. The ginger root should be decocted in water for at least 15 minutes. The other two can be steeped for 10 minutes. Source Natural makes a great Elderberry concentrate--yum!

I took sudafed when I was prego and I'm telling ya with a head cold there isn't really a point of taking anything it's not gonna work. Just get yourself some hot rags and keep pressing them on your face...around your nose and eyes and have someone rub your head for you! Hope you feel better! Being preggers and sick is the worst!

I would take nothing! It is allergy season...so make sure windows are closed...I know having windows open for fresh air is nice...but I do not recommend it. Second, when you are outside, come in and shower...this washes off the pollen. Last, use a humidifier and/or an air purifier. Alot of the nasal medications cause rebounding...you just don't need that right now while expecting! (Jean...Nurse Practitioner)

Is he still in diapers? Take it OFF!
I put my kids on the regular toilet with an insert for small children to secure them and put head phone with music they enjoyed and let them stay as long as needed for them to go. We checked once in a while for any thing in the toilet and when there was something we did a wave BY BY and they flushed themselves. They really liked it.

this is going to sound wierd but when i was nursing I ad the WORST head cold and jusr like being pregnant you are limited on what to take, Fortunately I am a nurse and have a friend relationship with some doctors and one of them told me to get real chicken broth and drink at least 2-3 warm mugs a day, in 2 days I felt 75% better

Have you tried a humidifier or one of those menthol vapor plug ins? Maybe some Vicks vapor rub? I personally didn't take ANYTHING except my prenatal vitamins when I was pregnant because there aren't many studies showing how meds effect an unborn child. I know when a baby has a cold they can't take anything and my pediatrician always suggested the humidifier. There may be something OTC you could take but I would check with your OB first!
