What could be causing my little one to have burning poop?

My son is 14 months old. On and off for about a month he has had acidic poop. I cant seem to find out what is causing it. On the days that he has these episodes, his poops are fine in the morning but get bad around lunch time. We change his diaper as soon as we notice that its dirty (it doesnt seem to take long for it to start to burn him). We apply butt paste or vasline, and let him air out (when we can) to soothe him. We just would like some direction as to what it could be, or what we could do. Some things we thought it might be:

A serving of fruit, with a cup of watered down juice during the day. Now if we give fruit we dont give the juice.

We would try eliminating different foods on different days, but still dont know which ones could cause it.

He seems to be getting another molar, he already has one in and another partially through.

When he was 9 1/2 months old we tried him on whole milk but he couldnt drink it that early because of this same reason. Thought that maybe he has a reaction if he drinks too many ounces of whole milk in a day.

He goes for his 15 month check up next month but its so hard to try to wait it out.
