What do I do when my 14 month old will not eat anything new?

My 14 month old will not try anything new. He only eats what he was used to eating when he had no teeth. He eats anything that has to do with bread, yogurt, applesauce, chicken nuggets, bananas, and sometimes apples or sweet potatoes. But he will not try anything else and I hate to keep giving him the same thing all the time. I've tried introducing all kinds of pasta and vegetables but he won't eat that. And I don't know what else to try to feed him?

Thank you for the suggestions I'll definetly try anything. But the key word you said is patience! I think that's the big thing I need to try harder on!

You can disguise the food in other foods. There are recipes for bownies that includes spinach.

Just keep offering a small amount of a new food to him once or twice a day while still feeding him the things he DOES eat. I have read somewhere that it can take offering a food 15 times before they are willing to try it. Patience. :)

If it makes you feel any better... my 19 month old nephew took a few bites of mac and cheese (big brother's favorite food) just on Monday for the first time ever. He's eaten plain noodles several times, but never any with any flavor on them. He still gets a LOT of purees as he's had texture issues adjusting to solids. Mom offers him whatever the rest of the family is eating at meal time, but then lets him have a puree after. He's also still partially on formula since his diet isn't that varied yet.

Having this issue is quite normal.
