I am full white, my daughters doner is puerto rican and pacific islandar and a 16th african american. I have tried everything on her hair and nothing has seemed to work. It gets really frizzy half way through the day and I can not afford to pay big money for hair products. Every morning when we wake up her hair is standing on end and it is so hard to comb through so I use detangler. Is there something that I am missing? I will not put anything oily in her hair!

Ok I dont know if this will work for you but my daughter has fine, CURLY-curly hair and it was always hard to manage until my friend put me onto this mixture- now I know you said you dont want anything oily but bear with me- get a spray bottle and put in a very small amount of a conditioner for curly hair (about a 1cm diameter blob, then out in ONLY 6 drops of tee-tree oil and 6 drops iof lavender oil then fill the rest of the bottle with water and shake it all up. I use this spray morning and night and any time I have to do her hair in an upstyle for school etc and i is the ONLY thing that stops her hair going frizzy by lunchtime. Another added bonus is that it repels headlice so my kids never get it even if the whole class has it.

I'm 22 and use detangler in my own hair. And I'm white! Try a shampoo and conditioner for curly or frizzy hair too.

Her hair is just so fuzzy and crazy sometimes. although she has fine curls she has a lot of them. because her hair is so many different lengths it isnt yet braidable. But thank you both so much!

Is it braidable? I have some difficulties with my daughter's hair getting knotty at night because she has such fine hair, so I often plait it for bedtime, and I ALWAYS tie it back in a ponytail during the day. I still have to use the detangler sometimes, but it certainly saves a lot of headaches.

Don't use oily products if you don't want to. Not a big deal. However, if you want to tamed you will need to straighten it. There are a lot of products out there that claim they will do it. However, just buy an actual flat iron type of straightener and find a good bottle of straightener that will last. At night pull it back into a ponytail and though loose from the scalp keep the actual band tight. I can't remember what my niece uses but I do know the sprays could be trial and error until you find the right one for your daughter.

Good luck.
