I had an ultrasound done around 5-6 weeks b/c I was having bleeding. The ultrasound was done vaginally. My doctor couldn't find the baby. I had to come back the next day for another ultrasound and this time the ultrasound tech did find him. She told me the reason the doctor couldn't find him was because my cervix was tilted and he probably didn't have the probe positioned correctly. Just because they have MD after their name doesn't mean they can use the US machine correctly. The US tech went to school for that. The doctor went to school for delivering babies. My son is now 4 months old.

i went for an early scan at 5 weeks as id had 2 miscarriages before and wen i had he scan they told me the baby wasnt in my womb but as i had a positive pregnancy test they said she was ectopic and stuck in my tubes. they treat this as an emergency and made me sign consent forms to have my tubes removed and a full hysterectomy if needed, i was devastated that i wud never have children, only to come round after the anaesthetic to find out they had got it wrong and i was pregnant after all, trust ur instincts i knew there was nothing wrong with me and i knew i was pregnant, they jus try and find a medical term for eveything nowadays

I am not worried about I know I still pregant. I think that it might be behind the scar tissue from my c-section which I have alot of scar tissue. I am still feeling like

I am pregos. They said that my hcg levels were high so I think I am having twins again *gasp*!

They should be able to see at least a sac at five weeks. Make sure they scan the tubes to be sure it isn't ectopic. Hopefully they just couldn't see it and all is well.

I had a bleed with my daughter....I wasnt as far along as I thought so had to have a vaginal scan and sure enough there she was :o) I was told it was an "acceptance bleed" but still confused as I hadnt had that with my son 2 years earlier, I later found out that that can happen on implantation and instead of them going into the whole explanation of it all, realised why I was told that.

I totally agree in the fact that you know you're on body and if you have any doubts what so ever its best to be checked over!

Wishing you lots of luck! :o) x

Be very careful, I just went through this. I didn't know I was pregnant, was on birthcontrol, went to my ob/gyn because I was having abnormal bleeding and severe cramping. HCG test came back positive, but they couldn't see a baby in US either. Turned out I had an ectopic pregnancy and now I'm deeling with heeling from that, It's not fun and very scary. Make your docs do all that can be done. A transvaginal ultra sound will determin where your pregnancy is no matter how far along you are... Best of luck and God bless you dear...

I had am ultrasound at 5 weeks to determine how far along i was, and because i was only 5 weeks by my calculations all they saw was a black hole or the not yet fetus looking sack - so they couldn't say i had a viable pregnancy but i was pregnant. They then asked could they do a vaginal ultrasound and they then got a better pic of the growing sack and said that everything looked fine about the size of the sack, which they couldn't determine by the ultrasound through my tummy. I also had bleeding at 6 weeks but i now have a healthy and happy 21 month old boy. Crossing fingers everything is ok with you.

Ok so I was think I am only 5 weeks and at the stage they cant find the baby anyways. So I am really not worry about anything now anyways. I still have to go in tomorrow to make sure my hcg levels are going up still. But other than that I am ok.

When i went to the dr and he did ultrasound all they could see was the pregnancy sack i was 6 weeks along he said you usually dont see anything till bout 6 weeks and 3 days. he said you wouldnt believe the difference that 3 days makes. so try not to worry.

best of luck!!!

I am at least 6 weeks along they told me at the er that they should see the heart beat and everything and they still can't find it. I am going back to the hospital here in a little bit.

I went to the ER for the same reason and they couldn't find the baby either because it was too early. Schedule an appointment with your OB/GYN. What until you know you are 6 weeks pregnant. That's when the baby will be large enough to see. Hopefully your spotting will stop soon. Maybe it's the egg implanting itself.

Just wait it out. Spotting is common for implantation, but in most cases goes away. I know in my friends case when she had a miscarriage, that the doctors did an ultra-sound and saw no baby but said maybe it was still in the process; however, she did continue to bleed and then cramp and led to miscarriage. I don't want this to discourage you but I know how scary bleeding is. I did bleed for 3-4 months of my pregnancy and the baby was fine. Some women bleed and they would tell me they have no explanation of why, so I pray that things go well for you.
