B6 as my dr. reccomended...and it does not work. i also try eating soda crackers and they make me feel even worse. every food sounds repulsive to me except ham and cheese hot pockets. i do not know what to do. any ideas? I am almost 8 weeks along and with my first baby ( and only) i was sick for the first 4 months. i am so worried that i am going to get as sick as i was with my son and cannot get that sick because i have to take care of him. he is a very energetic baby and i am having a really hard time keeping up.

If you can't function normally you may have hyperemesis gravidarum. This is NOT normal morning sickness and can last all day and all night. Many women are hospitalized by it. I had it with my daughter...it was awful. The only thing that helped me was medication. I used Zofran throughout my pregnancy and in the last month I was finally able to get back up to my pre-pregnancy weight. I had lost 25 pounds during my pregnancy.

If you think you have HG talk to your care provider.

In my first pregnancy I had mild morning sickness but during my second one, nausea attacked me severely. I was at my wits end unable to eat and drink anything unless I started drinking No to morning sickness tea.

Wish I had a miracle cure for you. -Nothing- helped me.

It's for the nausea alone that I refuse to get pregnant again. It was hell being pregnant with a two year old.

oh i feel for you.. i still battle nausea and i'm 19 weeks now trying to keep up with my 2 yr old.. what worked for me, at first, was ginger tea, or mint tea.. but i soon got sick of both those.. so i now eat altoids.. its basically the same as peppermint oil, only i can stomach it better.. its great for me since i can buy like 8 regular sized containers of them from costco.. peppermint oil helped me the most, the only drawback was if i have a particularly bad day and eat more than a few altoids, my tongue feels dry and i can't taste anything.. but in moderation it works.. also, what works for me is taking walks in the morning.. the sunshine and the exercise builds my appetite, and somehow helps with the nausea, although if there are smells in the house i can't stand the effects are shortlived. hope you find something that helps.. i can't say it will stop soon, since i'm still suffering through it, but its less bad as it was in the beginning..

ya my dr. DOES get annoyed when i say i am really not feeling well. she gives me looks like "ok?" and says "well it's part of pregnancy" shelly: thank you for the encouragment! and i am already sick of the hot pockets now all i want is the spicey italin from subway but only a 6 inch then i get nautious from that luckily i have not thrown up yet. with my first born i literally ate the spicey italian for 2 weeks straight a footlong every day! that was when i was not sick so i am surprised that i am eating it while sick. this sickness has to have a cure lol it is the absolute worst. i am so sorry to all the woman who are sick for the entire 9 months. well enough of my complaining thank you thank you thankyou to all the words of advice and stories and encouragment!!!

I vomited with my 2nd pregnancy for 9 months, even on the morning of my c-section. If all you want is hot pockets, then have them. I lived on fuji apples.

I also learned how to mouth breathe almost automatically a lot & during diaper changes so I wouldn't toss my cookies.

They put me on several different drugs, but nothing helped.

I am a nurse, our HG pt's come in very acutely ill. It is different from regular pregnancy vomiting, they are keeping nothing down for days, to the point they can't function & are very dehydrated needing IV fluids for up to days. I have seen it so bad women have had to get PIC lines for nutritional replacement long term by IV.

You will learn how to function, the 1st 4 months is a real kick in the ass, hope it eases it for you. Until then keep that freezer stocked with your hot pockets!

Yea, sounds like you have HG. I'm surprised your care provider didn't catch this. Then again, lots of "old school" care providers think that all women get morning sickness and those with HG are just whiny. :/

The only things that worked for me (and only enough so I could keep a little down for an hour or so) were mashed potatoes with a little butter and *almost* flat ginger ale.
