This might seem silly but I was given a WII game system for christmas while I was still pregnant and my husband bought me the WII fit for my birthday, um... that looks bad doesn't it ha ha, my husband is supportive really he is. Anyway if you are looking to be able to work out with a bit of fun involved then I would suggest using this game it's a lot of fun. They also have a Jillian Michaels game ( she's the trainer from the biggest loser ) and they just came out with a new fitness game by EA Sports. I wasn't convinced that it would do anything worth while but it actually is hard work. The game also records your weight and progress for you as well as tracks what exercises you've done, it has Yoga, strength training, cardio, aerobics, balance training, and you unlock more exercises thee more you use it. It's a lot of fun and it's not so hard that you don't want to do it everyday. It's just another alternative but you also have to watch what you eat because no amount of exercise will do anything if your not eating properly.

I lost 30 pounds with weight watchers and have kept it off for 2 years. I highly recommend joining. the online wasn't enough for me, I needed to go and get weighed in to be held accountable.

Hi there. I am the same height as you and I was 177 lbs. when I just had finally had enough and decided it was time to take care of my health. I'm not doing anything crazy like exercising 2 hours a day...who has time for that??? I started by cutting my portion sizes, palm sized meat portion about the height of a deck of playing cards, increased my water intake, decreased the starches and went way up on the fruit and veggies. I also used to skip breakfast and didn't really eat much until supper time, so when my kids went to bed I would stuff my face all night! Bad idea! I don't really drink soda anymore and I only have a little treat once a week. It's really tough at first, but I found it got easier after a couple of weeks. I started exercising a few weeks after I got the diet under control. I'm doing Turbo Jam 5 times a week which is a combo of cardio and weight training. I do it when my kids are in bed and the longest workout is an hour. Try to find something that you enjoy doing and you'll keep doing it!! Best of luck to you! I truly believe that anyone can get in shape no matter how far gone you feel you are. I'm down 12 pounds and a bunch of inches and it's only been 6 weeks. You can do it too!!!

One of the best ways is your baby! I walk mine everyday. He was born in October and I am in Canada, but I still walked in the snow. I also use wii fit. The games are only 2 mins long each( after you set up your profile) It gives me tips and charts and goals, and I am 5'7 137 lbs now. I also have lots of stairs and steps to take. I put his change station on one end of the house and his playpen in the other. Really just anything to be a bit more active, and i am by no means a super healthy eater, but I do little things like ok for this meal I can go w/o mayo and salt. Or I take more veggies and fewer carbs at each meal. Just little things I can do to be a bit healthier really add up weekly.

I agree a healthy diet and exercise are the key doing silly diets just makes your weight yo yo changing to a permanant healthy diet is the best way to go, still treat yourself now and then though :) I have Wii Fit as well and I try to do 30mins a day on that the body test on it also monitors your weight and I walk the kids to and from school rather than use the car.

Diet is the most important and it's not only what you eat, but portion size. Just make sure you are eating small portions every 2-3 hours of nutitious food. For your physical activity do some weight training and cardio...not just cardio. Cardio will burn calories and tone you, but weight training will build muscle. You don't want to build up huge muscle, but you need to build a little because muscle burns calories, even when you are resting...this will increase your weight lose. Personally I use a fat conversion bar. It neutralizes the adenosine our body makes naturally to protect our fat stores so when you work out you are burning directly from your stored fat. They are phenominal.

eat only half of what you order or put on your plate. and eat the other half for the next meal. and unfortunaly nothing works better than good ole fashioned exercise even mild leg lift's or walking.

Eating healthy foods and getting exercise is the best thing you can do. Stop drinking anything except water. You'll be surprised at how much you lose just from the calories in all drinks. I am also using the P90X program. I can't get in an hour everyday, not with a 2 month old, but even if you can only do 30 minutes of it, you will notice a difference. The awesome thing about exercise is even as tired as you are, if you will exercise, you will some how have more energy.

After 3 kids I'm back to my size before I had children. I don't have time for exercise so I eat healthy (whole grains, 100% juice, extra lean meat, very few processed foods, healthy snacks etc.). I park far away when shopping, wear ankle weights as much as possible, use stars when available, play outside with the kids, go for walks as much as possible, and work in the yard at home.

The biggest thing that helps me lose weight is that fact that we have a two story home and I am up-and-down the stairs constintly all day.

I don't keep a trash can in the nursery so that after every changing I have to walk down the stairs to throw the old one away, and I always go upstairs to the changing table when she needs changing. Also, in these journey's back and forth, I carry the babe which subs as weight lifting cuz we all know how fast those little ones grow.

If you don't have a two story home, maybe try keeping things at the oposite ends of the house and get one of those $3-$5 step counters. Those helped me pre-pregnancy to drop weight for vacations and holidays.

Hope I was some help.

Decide to change your lifestyle. Eat small portions throughout the day, and don't snack at night. Walk or jog or exercise when you can and include your children. Cut out the salty and the soda pop and drop the water weight. Truly pay attention to what you put in your mouth you will be surprised by the end of the day when you total it up. Love your veggies. Join weight watchers it can work wonders, don't do it for your kids do it for your future.

Hi, I am the same height as you and have trouble maintaining my weight sometimes as well!

I use the P90X program at home. I really like it, but it is HARD and takes about an hour and a half every session. Now obviously I can't do it everyday, life doesn't allow. However I have seen great results just doing it a couple of times a week. The best part is that the more you use the program the more you can do. I have trouble with push ups, but I can do more now than when I started, it's a great self esteem booster!!
