They where all good advice! Mine as a disabled nurse is always go to the doc when u have questions about these kinds of things. As someone else said if your mommy radar is saying something is wrong. Then u listen to it. You know your child better then anyone else/

Good Luck

Also get her checked for lactose intolerance. My daughter was having very loose, frequent bowel motions and it turned out she was lactose intolerant (still is at 20). If your mother's instinct says something is wrong, then get it checked.

If she has had problems in the past I think you would want to have her checked out again. 3 times a day can be normal for some 18 month olds, but since she had the infection I wouldn't take a chance if something doesn't seem right. Your mommy instinct is telling you it doesn't seem right, so follow it! Trust yourself!

I used to work in an ER. Black and sort of "smushy" or "sticky" poops are usually a good sign of bleeding in the belly or intestines. If she recently had a stomach infection, like a bacterial infection, it could have caused ulcers in her belly or a viral infection with lots of vomiting and/or diarrhea can cause strain on the blood vessels in the throat, belly, intestines, or rectum. Its always best to get a child checked out if there is any black in their poop or vomit. It could be nothing, it could be minor, but it could be serious. Especially at her age. Also, from a mom's perspective, if you are worried enough to ask for advice from other mothers, then your instinct is telling you something is wrong. Follow that gut feeling when it happens. You know your baby best.
