What is it that keeps you from going off the deep end when life gets overwhelming? What holds you together?

when my kids just give me a kiss and cuddle just because they can and then knowing they go to bed early and I can get some time out with a glass of wine and a block of chocolate

My little girl. Whenever i'm having a bad day or feeling a little sad i just have to look at her beautiful face and give her the biggest hugs and it all seems better. Also my boyfriend he always knows how to make me smile when i'm upset. I truly am a very lucky woman!

This is a timely question because I am going through the darkest part of my life , what is holding me together ? My amazing fiancée , family and my wonderful friends , I do not know how I would cope without them right now .

My children and my husband. At the end of my days I will look back at them and know I did what I could. Happy mummy, happy home.

My faith most of all. Talking to other people who have experienced the same feelings and hearing how they were able to overcome - real, practical advice is what has helped me.

The reality that it will get better, that things arent always going to be as shitty as they seem right now. I have been through numerous bad situations in money, love, life, health, living situations and I'm still alive....it wasnt the end of the world, so why treat it like its the end of everything now?

My husband. He is always there for me. He is my shoulder to cry on, the one who listens and he just makes me feel better.

I Feel strongly that when things feel overwhelmed. I remember it was my choice of life to live the plan of slavation and bring forth a family in this world. It's more of God's will be done. Then blessings will brighten my dark path and things seem more bareable thereafter!

Love, our son, my husband, family and life it's self. I am very blessed and like to stay focused on my blessing especially during hard times. When things get especially hard I like to remind myself that it could always be worse.

Edit to add: Coffee helps too! :)

Family is my first port of call along with my best friend. If I am happy or sad I ring them and have a natter. I have had some real low points this year and my family have brought me through it. I like to share my childrens achievements with them and ring them for a general natter at least once a week. I have to say when I am feeling low that half an hour on COM put's my problems back into perspective as there is always somebody needing more help than me and I am happy to help them if I can.

When things get so impossible and insane and just plain wrong, something usually happens, or someone says something that hits my funny bone, and the absurdity of life hits me between the eyes. If you can find something to laugh about every day, you'll be ok in the end.

My husband. He is my support system. I am able to talk with him about anything even if it has to do with him. He is a great help with most things especially when it comes to the kids. When things come unraveled when he is at work I take a time out. I just sit back, take a deep breath and tell myself I am doing the best that I can. My kids come first and all the other b.s. can wait. If that doesn't work I will call my husband at work so I can get my head straight again.
