Get snag free elastics and use hair moisturiser after you wash it, moroccan oil is great. Once a week is sufficient for hair washing.

Try not to use rubber band as that will damage the hair more and she'll lose for hair. If you must tie her hair the best option would be a scrunchy although not very nice it wont damage the hair as much. Or some other alternative that wont damage the hair more. Try not to use too much shampoo only a tiny amount on the scalp. Try looking for a high protein conditioner. Try not to wash too frequently every second day maybe. Also try using a tiny amount of olive oil in her hair. Sounds weird but it is great. I have used a tiny bit at night time. My normally gets quite dry. I wash washing my hair a lot and getting sores on my head because my mum stayed down and her kids had lice. The olive oil really helps sooth and is a really good way to moisturise hair. Limit brushing for now 2 twice a day too.
