What is a good volunteer opportunity for a 5 year old?

I am wanting to start a volunteering tradition in my family. I want to teach my daughter about the less fortunate. She is 5. What would be an age appropriate volunteer opportunity?

I don't know if you have this in your area, but here the food shelf hosts something called "FEED MY SHEEP". it's a program where you stand in a line (much like an assembly line) and put certain non parishable foods in a bag to be packaged and shiped all over the country to those in need. I have seen children there as young as 3. It's easy and all you have to do is, say, measure rice and put it in a bag. Look into your local food shelf/ church and see if they have a similar program.
