Good morning mommies! I know for a fact that I allow my 10 yr old (11 in 2 weeks) daughter to stay up way too late especially during the week. However, I am a single parent who work full time and go to school part time which often time hinders me from making it home at a resonable hour to get to bed let alone my daughter. I sometimes won't even get dinner started until around 8:30. I usually have no one to make sure she gets to bed because 99% of the time it's just she and I. Her grades are not the greatest but they're not the worst either. Although I have'nt heard any negative reports from her teachers, I know she would perform better academically if she had an earlier consistent bedtime. She has'nt gone to bed earlier than 11-11:30 in a really long time and it's like pulling teeth trying to get her to now. I feel bad because I let it go on for so long she has become accustomed to going to bed whenever she feels like it. I know it effects her because it's a nightmare trying to get her ready for school in the mornings. I think I forgot what is a reasonable bedtime for a child her age and I would like your feedback about what you feel is a good bedtime and what things a single parent with a hectic shedule can do to create a better sleep schedule for her child.
