Hi. I been exclusively breastfeeding for almost a year. Yay! Well, I just started pumping 2 and sometimes 3 times a day to start some storage. But I have some concerns about the quality of the milk after its been frozen then warmed and served to baby. Does it depend on how long its been in freezer? This milk will be consumed within 6-9months. And how many ounces should i serve a 1yr old. Im averaging 2 ounces every time i pump but the internet searches are estimating between 20-30 oz a day, but not per feeding. And 2oz is such a small amount. Thats why im pumping 2 and 3x a day. 30oz a day means its 3-5 days of pumping to sustain my son for 1 day. Formula and whole milk just seem so convenient and easy at this point. But if frozen breastmilk is still worth it I will stay dedicated.

Hi,

I don't know much about the appetite of a 1 year old but I am brestfeeding and I do pump regularly. Brest milk will last about a year in the freezer and 3 days in the fridge. When you heat it up, do not put it in the microwave, you need to get a bottle warmer. This will keep all the nutrients in the milk.

I hope this helps some :)
