I agree with Shawnn. Curfew is not really appropriate for an adult. You set rules/expectations.

I remember living in a hostel for a while when I left home (I had to move to the city). I was 18, they had rules. Doors were locked at 10:30pm on weeknights and midnight on weekends. I didn't like those rules......so I found a way afford my own apartment. But they had those rules for a reason - many of the girls who stayed there were 16 or 17 year old girls from the country who had to move away from home for their training. House rules need to be respected, and if an adult doesn't like them, they find a way to move out and have their own house rules.

Its not called "curfew", it's called room and board. If household rules state no one out after midnight, then that's the rule. If they're paying rent, then you need to treat them like a tenant (with exceptions, of course).

If they're not paying rent, why not? They are an adult, more than capable of taking care of their living expenses. My 19 yo has been on his own for a year now...his choice. Before that, he paid me room and board.

Attempting to impose a curfew on your adult children is, well, in my opinion...a bit over the top.
