What is formula doing to your child?

My daughter is 3 months old and has always had a watery stool. There has only been a few times where she had a very soft stool. I have asked the dr. about it and all he has to say is it is a stomach virus. Also along with the watery stool she has gases all the time. I am thinking it is the formula but the Dr. will not change it. Does anyone have any suggestions or similar issues?

The first formula we put our little guy on blocked him up and gave him major tummy aches & plenty of gas. Once we changed it he was back to his normal self. We are able to buy it from the supermarket here too, only prescribed special medical formulas are needed here to go through the dr. If you have to get it through the dr maybe get a 2nd opinion from a different dr.

It must be different where you are cos here I would opt to go buy a different formula to try from the supermarket, is that not an option for you? If you are concerned maybe get a second opinion too it can't be easy thinking what your feeding her is upsetting her stomach:(

my daughter went through a few formulas, similac made her very constipated, so we switched to enfamil and that worked great, but it was very very pricey, and her ped recommended parents choice (walmart brand) and it was great. my son went through a few too, but we ended up putting him on parents choice too. our ped also told us the store brands are made by the same companies as the name brand. for more info, you can go to www.storebrandformula.com

I tried about 4 diffrent formulas before I found the right one for my daughter, I started her on Similac, thats what the NICU fed her, and it made her VERY gassy, then I went to Good Start it upset her tummy I think it was that its made with Whey, then I tried Heinz and she did great on it for months until, we moved cities and our new doctor told us that the "superstore brand PC is the one she recomeneds, so we swiched because the diffrence in price is huge about 15 dollars a can for PC compared to 30 for the others, and she loves it, and we have had no problems :)
Good luck

Thank you ladies for your recommendations. I could simply go and by a different formula. I just do not know which kind because there is about three different types so I thought that maybe my dr. would be able to help. I am going to make an appt with another dr to get my second opinion. I never had that problem with my first child so I never had to worry about the late nights because of tummy ache or gases.
