I just got off the depo shot, I hated it! I'm starting Nuvaring in a few days, and hoping for the best. There's one called implanon, that is implanted in your arm, that might be worth looking into, but I don't know how likely a person is to have unpleasant side effects.

Most birth controll is over 99% effective if take correctly. You just have to find the one that fits your lifestyle the best. If you are the kind that would have a hard time remembering to take a pill at the same time every day, then the pill wouldn't be very effective. The depo shot works for three months, but there is a high instance of side effects, that won't go away until it has completely left your system which could take 6 mo to a year. Mirena (iud) is good for 5 years, but I think it is kind of expensive. There are a lot out there, and like I said most are over 99% effective, just do some research and find what you would think would work best for you,
