Hi, I'm 9 weeks pregnant. My appetite is increasing :( I'm so worried about my figure. I'm tired most of the time and I can see that my belly is getting bigger which is too early and it's scaring me badly that I cried today in the morning in front of the mirror. What kind of exercise is good for me?

I had a flat tummy before baby. Got freaking huge during pregnancy. Then had a flat tummy afterwards. Eat until you are full and only eat when you are hungry. Your body will store what you need for milk and baby will take the rest. You might be having a big baby. I started outgrowing clothes at the point

Did you exercise before you became pregnant? Most exercise is good for you and also for your unborn child. As for eating, eat but don't binge. Choose healthy snacks and you can't go wrong. Veggies and fruits will always win over candy and cakes when it comes to avoiding excessive weight gain. You should discuss with your doctor what amount of weight he suggests you gain with your pregnancy. If you are heavier, he may suggest less, slimmer he may suggest more. Just know he is there to help you. At the time of my pregnancies, I was on the heavy side. I gained 19 with one, 18 with the second and 5 with the third. I actually wasn't extremely hungry during my pregnancies either. Good luck!

It is a big deal and I have had two kids. It just sounded like from your post that all you were worried about was having fat to deal with instead of a baby. I am sorry that you've no one to turn to but maybe you need to reach out to local places to see if there are other women who have little to no family or friends to talk to and talk to them...I am sure there are things maybe your doctor could suggest to you to check into. At the same time, you only need to do those exercises that keep you fit because if you are not used to other sorts of exercise you might hurt yourself or your baby. But you do need to not worry about loosing that flat tummy right now. You can worry about that after baby is here and you are healed from birth. Yes, your appetite grows so have a few snacks during the day that are healthy such as fruits, veggies, cheese or crackers, and watch the types of things you eat as well. Follow doc's orders too and you should have good pregnancy.

I will say this much, you seem to have things under control and know why things are going on from your readings. And I want chocolate all the time and I am not pregnant. Its okay to indulge some but not all the time. Use that for a treat. Sweets too. Look for the alternates to that like with fruits, veggies, etc. After you get past the first 3 months you will feel or should feel a bit more energy and better. About four months you should be feeling some fluttering feelings...that will be that baby moving and its such a wonderful thing.

Well, I'm trying to take it step by step. I'm reading a lot about it and trying to understand.I know that a lot of the physical pain i'm feeling is due to the hormone changes in my body. I'm trying to embrace the pain and fatigue I'm having. I have a job and I go home about 6pm to take an hour rest and then start preparing lunch for next day, clean ..etc. I'm also focusing on eating healthy stuff though I have this weird desire for chocolate and sweets but trying to replace them with fruits. I think I'll find a lot of answers here. Thanks Evelyn for your time here.

I see now. Different culture and world location. I am sorry then to be so blunt. But this would be a good place to get those words of comfort you look for but you will also get some hard words too. As you have no supports that you can depend on, what are you looking for?

You are right. From my post you can definitely think i'm only worried about the belly. I wrote it in the morning while at work after I experienced a horrible breast pain that ended up with some burn in the heart and it seems that out of frustration I wrote what I had in mind not caring to explain more. I'm reading a lot about this stage and I'm trying to help myself. The place where I live is not that supportive when it comes to these matters. I live in the middle east. I'm hoping to find answers in this site and hopefully I'll manage and have a healthy baby and at the same time keep up my health to take care of him/her after that :)

Thanks Evelyn, I'm totally aware that i'll grow a belly and bye bye to my flat stomach but my appetite is growing and i'm afraid that along with the baby i'll grow fat all over the place. Why I feel getting scolded here and not understood at all! Having a baby is a big decision and though I do want to be a mom, I'm still not that ready for these big changes. I have no one to ask about what is going on with me, no friend no mom no sister and the monthly visits I pay to the doctor is not enough for all what is going on in my mind. What I asked about is the exercise that i can practice that suites my situation. Simple as that.

Okay, you are pregnant not getting fat. Those two are not equal at all. No amount of exercise or change in diet will keep your figure how you want it. You are going to grow a belly with the baby and just because you are a couple months or more along does not mean its too soon for a belly to show. A lot of women show early...its just how it goes. Plus trying to exercise and diet like this to keep a flat stomach will hurt your child in the long run. Eat a balanced diet and exercise to keep fit but not to loose weight or a belly. Follow a doctor's orders and you will be fine. If you were so worried about a figure why did you get pregnant?
