We are trying to determine where to go from here. My son, age 7, has had lots of intervention-- OT and behavior therapy but still can't control his temper. He also has very little body control. Traditional adhd meds just hyped him up even more. He goes to a school specific for his needs and it's wonderful. Intuniv helps him gets through the school day. He is on Abilify and it was helping but then stopped. We increased the dose but it's still not helping. I wondered about SSRIs, strattera or anxiety meds. Risperadol is a possibility but I'm guessing it'll be like Abilify and stop working after a couple of months. Sometimes I think if we helped his anxiety, he may feel better but the doctor thinks it won't help. Intuniv does make him sleepy which can lead to him being cranky by the time school is out. He is such a loving, fun and active child; he just gets so easily frustrated and angry--it's so sad to see him that way.
