With my first I did it for the first year and I went back to school. With my second I'm still currently breastfeeding and he's 18 months lol. I'd say stop when you and baby are both ready. I'll probably start weaning soon enough too.

Many people in our culture have an issue with breastfeeding past the one year mark but there is no "right" age to wean. My son is also 13 months and I had to wean him since I work full time and continuing to pump was not an option. I still nurse him before bed and it is a bonding ritual that we both still enjoy. If you are still comfortable with nursing, I would continue it as long as you are able or want to. Don't let the opinions/comments of others affect your decision. It is a personal choice to breastfeed and weaning is a big decision. Do what's best for you and baby and don't listen to the comments of others. Good luck with whatever you decide!!
