What should I do about my son's violent imaginary friend?

My 4year old son has been saying that his imaginary friend "Joe" is killing people and he has been pretending to kill people like a soldier, throwing grenades and shooting guns. I am starting to really worry. He also said that he had a dream that I killed myself by stabbing myself in the stomach! He does not watch violent shows but has saw his father playing call of duty video game while I was at work. Should I have him talk to a therapist? Or is it just from that video game?

I'd definitely avoid the video game exposure from now on, but 4 year old boys are VERY creative and do have 'natural' violent tendencies. My 4 year old is constantly battling the invisible bad guys. ;)

I have talked to my son and he is not allowed to 'kill' anyone other than the invisible bad guys.
