So im 100% positive my baby has pinkeye. She spent the day with my friend and her husband and the next morning my friends husband woke up with pinkeye. He never went to the doctor but it's a given. My daughter is 4 months old and this morning (Saturday) she woke up and her eyes were full of gunk. She had a hard time opening them. Should I take her to the ER or make an appt on Monday? Are there any homeopathic things I can do to help her eye? Thanks mommy's!

If it were a blocked tear duct would it make the corner of her eye pink or red? Because it only turns red towards bedtime and when she first wakes up.. But throughout the day its back to white.

I would say blocked tear ducted when it is pink eye the whole eye swells shut and stays that way does not go back and forth. What you are describing sounds like tear ducts and breast milk really is a miracle cure where the eyes are concerned.

If you breastfeed use your breastmilk as eye drops, it really works. Otherwise I would go to a walk-in or call your pediatrician, usually there is an on call doctor or nurse who can advise you.

Too bad she refused to breastfeed! Had I known this before it dried up I would have froze some! Dang it! Is blocked tear ducts common in both eyes at once? I'm gonna make her an appt Monday.
I've heard they cant really do anything for it until they're a year old. That scares me cause I dont want my baby going thru this for another 7 months!

I would take your child to see a doctor. My son was three months when he went to the doctor for having gunk in his eyes. Which I thought was pink eye as well until his eye didn't get better with the meds the pediatrician prescribed. I took him to an eye doctor and the doctor told me he had a blocked tear duct. The doctor gave meds that cleared it up as well as exercises to do to his eye.
