What To Do

My son, Colton is nine. He started grade 4 this September. Here is the problem I am having. His writing......printing or hand writing is extremely messy......it drives me crazy. How can I make him write neatly so I don't feel like pulling my hair out when I have to look at his stuff and try to understand what he is writing

I have a similar problem with my kindergartner he has really bad pencil grip and when he writes it's really faint so it's hard to read. Obviously he's just learning so it's a little different but like Marina said some people just have bad hand writing. Talk to the teacher and see if she feels the same way, and maybe the two of you can cone up with an action plan together. Otherwise just have conselation in knowing that in high school and college all papers are typed!

With my son the rule was if it is not legible then it is incorrect. If I couldn't read his homework he had to redo it. He just started third grade & his teacher said he has wonderful handwriting. Good luck!

Some people just have messy handwriting...i am one of them. Talk to the teachers and see if they have the same concern. You can't really force nice writing.
