I have the opportunity to move to Chicago for a great job. My 16 year old son refuses to leave Minneapolis, and refuses to go to school. He treatend to run away. What can I do? I feel gulity, if I leave him here and go to Chicago. I've even asked him to come with me, just for a visit to see family. He won't go, he thinks I'll keep him there, which is true

No, i've tried telling him that I'm the parent, he's the child. He just runs away and says that I'm abandoning him, leaving him behind, and that I don't love him, if I leave without him. He even call CPS, they refered him to the Bridge for homeless children.

You are the parent, and he is the child. When I was a kid, we moved a lot, but I never had a say until I was a junior in high school. Is there family or friends in Minneapolis he can live with?
