So my son was diagnosed with milk-protein allergy as a newborn and placed on Enfamil Nutramigen milk. It worked wonders for him! He recently turned 1yrs old two weeks ago so I tried to transition him to 1%milk under the advice of his doc. She said he may have outgrown the allergy but nope. He broke out in a rash all behing his ears etc and was having too many bowel movements. 1wk later the doc switched him to regular Soy milk. Its been one week on Soy milk and he has broken out around his mouth and he is having an average of 5-6 bowel movements a day! Its like diarrhea (very watery) so Im thinking he is allergic to the soy as well. He ran a fever now today as well. HELP!!!!!! Plz Idk what to do. Made a new doc appt for wednesday but taking any suggestions. My mom is saying put him back on enfamil nutramigen but idk if thats best and his is almost 13 months

Thanks alot. I took him to the doc today and she put him back on his enfamil formula. For atleast a few more months since he isnt tolerating the milk! I will try your suggestions down the line but for now I am happy to get him back on nutramigen if thats what it will take to ease his issues right now

Try almond or coconut milk. My son loves Almond Silk, and So Delicious Coconut milk. The Enfamil wouldn't hurt him at 13 months, as some babies still breastfeed to 2 years or more. At least to get over the current issue. A a protein allergy outgrown? Yeah... not likely. An intolerance perhaps, but an allergy to casein is a bit more intense. (Same for those with celiacs and gluten). It's also not unheard of to be allergic to soy. (Plus soy really isn't all that healthy for people, unless fermented as it will act like estrogen in the body) Well, on that subject, be prepared for other allergies to pop up. Good luck.
