I am an over 50 year old working mom of an only child. My 12 year old daughter is above average academically but socially not so great. She's in some extracurricular activities but prefers her technology over person to per contact. However, she's been "touchy, feeley" with others for most of her life. Recently, she's been getting texts from this one friend saying that some of her classmates think she's gay because of her hugging and shoulder touching other girls alot. She used to go to private school and the teachers told me my daughter was a "hugger" and it was hard to keep her hands to herself. (she was friends mostly with the boy at her former school) Now, that she is in a public jr. high school it's seems to be resurfacing. How should I approach this concern?
