Hi... Yes we have tried about all of them from ritalin to focalin we have tried almost all of the stimulants and nothing has helped either we have such terrible side effects or there is no change at all. She is on guanfacine, for about 6 months or so and no change we only kept her on it b/c the teachers said they saw a slight change. She is also on Clonidine at night. She is very moody and can go from 0 - 100 in the matter of seconds. The neurologist has suggested seeing a child psychiatrist. I am very nervous about what types of meds they may suggest. Do you have any suggestions on anything else that may help. We also work with a behavior specialist. It does help a little but not much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My Mary is a very special loving 7 year old girl with adhd and we would do anything to help her. Thanks in advance.
A worried mom.

Either give them more time, or try different ones. If you're giving the child guanfacine, don't let them prescribe more than 1 mg, it can cause all kinds of dental issues. Also, make sure the child gets plenty of water.
