Hey, everyone! These posts have been so informative that I thought I would pose my biggest
Problem lately. My first child, now 6 years old, was trained to stay in her room until 8 am and play quietly. Now, my second child, age 3, gets up everyday by 6:30 am-- even on weekends. I am not a morning person, and although I get up early during the week with the kids, don't I deserve a break on the weekends sometimes?? What does anyone do with extremely early kids?? Please help. The waking up to fighting is horrible every weekend. Any thoughts??

My boys also are up by 5:30, and I was never a morning person. Now I am I guess! They are so happy and cute in the mornings that I can't help but to feel lucky regardless of what time they get up. On the weekends, my hubby and I take turns getting up with them. I see the mornings as the best part of the day with them, and have learned to cherish them. Once they are teenagers, they will never get out of bed, much less want to spend time with their folks!

My nephew is the SAME WAY. He stayed with me one night (he is 5) and on the friggin DOT at 6am, he was begging to get up! My own daughters are snoozers so I wasn't even really coherent enough at 6am to answer so he just kept insisting it was 6am and his Mom said that's when he can get up. So funny! That just means he probably wakes up around 5:30 and stares at the clock for 30 minutes! My sister deals with it in their home by insisting he stay in his room until 6am, then he can come get her to turn morning shows on while she rolls back into bed to half-sleep another 30 minutes or so. My niece is 3. She will play in her room until she hears brother and/or the TV. I can't even imagine little persons roaming around the house before it is even light out! :)

My kid is up with the sun usually. Today I fed the baby adn put her back down and heard the older one stirring on the monitor so I stayed up and had coffee but now it's 730 and the sun is well and truly up and they are both asleep! RIPPED OFF I could have had 3 extra hours sleep. endrant. But honestly, this won't last forever. There will come a day you can sleep in again.

Drink a pot of coffee? -joke

Yeah, my son has always been an early riser. Off and on it's 5:30 in the morning. Luckily, I AM a morning person but even 5:30 is too early for me! I dealt with it for quite some time before I said enough is enough. I compromised, I let him crawl in bed with me in the morning. At first he wouldn't go back to sleep and it was 20 mins of being kicked over and over until he jumped out of bed and said "Time to wake up!"

But after a month he started falling asleep with me after 5-10mins. He's been sleeping until 7-7:30am now! Yah!

Honestly, though I am not a fan of kids watching tv, this is the one time I have absolutely no problem with putting on a video and napping on the couch while they watch!
