I am not in the classroom with her at all but i do work at her school. i have already taken away some of her favorite things so lets see how that works out. Update in a few weeks when she gets her report card. Thank you everyone for your help.

Is this an issue that her teacher is concerned about too? Maybe you being in the classroom with her affects her behaviour. Is she the same when you're not there?

Let her fail. Then when she brings the bad grades home you can take aways things she likes until her grades come back up. She'll probably be a bit more focused during class if it means she gets to watch tv at home.

Thats a little strange, but maybe she just gets along with everyone. I was horribly shy until I went to high school.

I already help her with her homework. She doesn't really need a tutor because i work at her school as an aide so i basically help her with everything. It's not that she doesn't know the work, it's that she is becoming toooo much of a social butterfly and she'd rather talk and fool around with the kids than do her work. So because of this she is not completing classwork on time. She is in 5th grade and this is the first time i am having this type of problem with her. She actually used to be very shy! I'm particularly concerned because of her going to middle school next year and i don't want her to get out of control.

Help her with her homework once she gets home, get a tutor, have her stay after school to get help.
