I am so Bord I want to take my one year old daughter outside to play but shes not walking yet, I feel like I have to hold her all the time or put a blanket on the ground, which she never stays on. I get so depressed sitting inside all day. I do take her to the park sometimes but all she can really do there is swing and i cant spend all day at the park swinging. Help me what do normal stay at home moms do with there babies during the summer.

Hi Brittany, (if you haven't already) try things like drawing pictures, outside toys like a sand and water table which she will be able to hold herself up on, playgroups if there are some in your area, take her to the local swimming pool and teach her water familiarization. Also do you own one of those push along walkers? Maybe you could take her outside and she could walk along with one of those or even teach herself to walk inside! That is what gt my little girl walking at such an early ae (9months) Goodluck

Bubbles are always fun. Don't be afraid to let her crawl around on the grass...she may not like it at first, but that will be part of the fun. Chalk on the sidewalk is also fun, as long as she can sit up well. A hose can occupy a child for a long time...just let it trickle so it doesn't get too crazy...good luck...it only gets better from here!

I like meetup.com. Like with other sites you always have to be careful. I only meet during daylight hours in highly trafficked places until I get to know the people. It's all about safety and common sense when meeting people you don't know for the first time. Look at gyms too. They have mommy and me gymnastics classes for little ones. It's some good one on one time with your little one. Starts them with exercise early and also gets you to meet other mom with kids the same age as yours.

Use your stroller or a backpack and go for hikes. Or find some art fairs or other type fairs in your area. Also a good thing is to use meetup.com or some other group to find other moms to meet for play groups and mommy time.
