I have a 15-month old daughter, and I have organized a couple of playgroups that meet once a week for an hour, but as she gets more and more active and requires more and more socialization, I'm finding it very hard to meet her needs like I did before. There just don't seem to be many options out there, so I end up taking her to practically every park I can find before and after her nap. I live in a 2-bedroom condo and it's just the two of us, so she gets bored after like 30 minutes in the morning and I have finally had to rely on turning the TV on for her just to give me a chance to shower and make her breakfast. She just seems so bored. The only options it seems are daycare or a nanny, and I have been touring daycares in the area and I'm just not comfortable with any that I've seen so far, and a nanny wouldn't really help with the problem of getting her more socialized... does anyone have any suggestions? Do most stay-at-home moms just go to the zoo and library and parks for a whole year?? It's very boring...

I find going to the zoo fun :-) Its great that you take her to the park. We go for walks in the forest,my son loves to see the treas or jump into a puddle of water, look at snails and pick up sticks. In the summer we go swim in the lake and have a picknick outside and in the winter we go to indoor swimmingpools or go out in the snow. We also quite often just stay at home and we do stuff like painting with watercolour or you get a special paint called finger paint the kids can paint with the fingers and its easy to wash off. My son also loves stickers, give a sheet of stickers and a piece of paper.Or help with cooking i put potatos in a bowl of water and he loves to wash them. Build a tent by using a blanket and put it over some chairs or let it hang down one side of a table..there are alot of ways and things kiddies love to do..just try some out.Good luck

We get crafty. Go to the library too, story times are free and fun. Mine are content in the tub with a bit of water, bowls, cups and spoons to play with. Maybe introduce crayons. Babysit if you can, or join a co-op.
