I know that while breastfeeding I should consume the bare minimum of 1800 calories. I am constantly eating and its all pretty much healthy food but I know I'm not consuming enough. I really need some tips on what to add to my diet to reach the proper caloric intake to continue producing milk for my baby. I'm producing just enough for her, but not enough to pump. My pediatrician said to supplement with Similac formula while she's being watched by family members. But here's the thing, she hates formula. So I need a little advice. Here's the list of food I eat during the day:

Breakfast:

Kashi cereal

Almond milk

2 slices of toast

Snack:

Greek yogurt

Hardboiled egg

Lunch:

Tuna sandwich on whole grain bread

Pudding

Snack:

Fruit smoothie made with V8 Fusion, frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, and fresh spinach

Whonu cookies

Dinner:

Usually lean meat with vegetables

I also take supplements from Shaklee:

Vitalea for women with iron

Vita-C

B-complex

Osteomatrix

I'm also going to be making a batch of lactation cookies.

Please, if anyone has anything to add to my daily diet that would help me, feel free to reply. Thank you.

Of the sample you posted the 2 areas that seem to be a bit lacking are fruits and veggies. Maybe add a fruit to your breakfast and another veggie to your lunch or snack time. Also you didn't mention what your drinking it's really really important to get enough water while your nursing 8-10 glasses should keep you hydrated and producing milk. If your exercising then they suggest a glass for every 15 minutes of exercise you're doing. Good luck
