What do I give a guardian ad litem? My soon to be ex is fighting for sole custody. He has a record of assault and battery against me and was investigated by CPS for my son which came back unfounded. I have some pictures of events my son has been to.
He is failing third grade because of his PTSD symptoms.
Any suggestions?

Jodi, thank you. I have all that. Sorry about the confusion. The events I'm talking about his showing the GAL how active he is in his life. School events, soccer, basketball, etc. I appreciate your response.

The PTSD could be as a result of the custody battle, not necessarily the assault. You would need evidence from a psychologist for this. I am assuming you have seen psychologists and they have diagnosed him - so you will need that report. Definitely provide anything that would be considered evidence to support your case. I am not sure what you mean by "events" your son has been to. Also an unfounded CPS report is not really evidence, and is actually evidence in the favour of your ex.

He is asking for sole custody with supervised visitation. I am asking the same.

Are you asking for sole custody with no visitation? Is he asking for sole custody with no visitation?

I'd be careful about appearing to bad mouth or put down your ex too much. I'm sure the GAL will ask all the questions at some point and you will be able to provide that information then. Don't appear too keen to start actively providing negative information that could be seen as trying to alienate the other parent. If he is asking for sole custody, what are you asking for?
