What To Teach A One Year Old?

Young children are wired to learn from the world around them. You teach a one year old what they need to know by providing them with a healthy, positive, and rich environment.

It's important for children this age to feel loved and secure. They learn about social interaction mostly from their family and their caregivers.

Toddlers need to be exposed to lots of language. That's how they learn about communication, and how they learn to talk. TV doesn't count as language. They need to have people talk, sing, rhyme and read with them.

It's important that young children have the opportunity to explore and learn by experimenting. Young children learn by playing and trying things out.

You also need to allow kids the space to work at their own speed. Kids may plateau in gross motor for awhile while they have a big burst in language development for example
