I have a now 5 yr old son with ataxic form of c.p! I had the perfect pregnancy with no complication. It was only at the time of birth he got stuck during the final stage of labour when I attempted to push for 90 mins before he was born. When he was born he had the cord wrapped tightly around his neck and wasn't breathing, that's he was taken to be resuscitated. He was left not breathing for 10 minutes. He spent a total of 15 days in hospital till he could come home. He has had 2 MRI that shown there was no bleeding on the brain but had a high level of white blood cells.
Today Bradley is a very happy 5 yr old who still has development problems, his speech which is mostly affected. He walks around on his own can sit, just learnt how to stand up on his own without holding onto anything which is a great accomplishmen. Feeds and dresses himself. I think what has helped him the most is his 2 yr old brother and he attends preschool 3 days a week!
