My three-year-old has an aunt Erin and an aunt Annie that live out of state and she always confuses the two of them. Yesterday I told her she needed to nap because we had to do some errands that afternoon. When she woke up from her nap, she came out of her room with her shoes, put them on and told me, "Mama, I'm ready to do Annies now."

After observing me feed her newborn brother over a couple of weeks, my 3 year old daughter comes out of her room with a bulge under her shirt, I ask her, 'is that a baby in your belly' as that had been what she was doing all during the pregnancy, she replied, 'silly mummy, i feeding my baby' and proceeded to lift her shirt and hold her baby doll to her chest :-)

my sister and i were in the car discussing a petty squabble she was having with her neighbour. she was looking for ideas on ways to end the squabble without giving in, when my son in the back seat had to add his two cents to the conversation by saying" well you know what they say about this in the old country don't you?" my sister and i sat in stunned silence for a minute then almost in unison we asked no, what do they say in the old country? his reply "how should i know i'm just a kid, and i don't even know where the old country is." we were laughing so hard that we had to pull off the rode to avoid an accident.

when we moved to our newly built apartment, it was full of sand and dust. we decided to hire a maid for a day to help clean it up so we could move in. our neighbor has a live in nanny/maid, and i guess my kids thought they were the same maid... when the house was messy, ds (7) asked us why we don't just call for the maid that comes with the house? dd (4) says to him in her most sure of herself tone, 'maids don't come with the house, you have to buy them!'

This morning my 4 year old daughter asked me if she could give me a kiss on my hand. I said sure and she kiss the palm of my hand and said "now you can hold onto it and when you get tired of holding it or need a kiss just put it on your cheek"! I have no idea where she got it from but it was so cute and heart melting!

Have to share the sweetest thing ever said to me was from my grandson who was about 8. I made the comment I'm not as young or pretty as I used to be and he looked at me so sweetly and said, "Grandma, as long as I'm looking at you, you will always look beautiful". Yep, I cried!

This isn't something my son (4) said to me today but when he was 2 years old he use to tell his grandma that if she kept smoking she was going to be talking through her neck. I think he saw that commercial about the effects of smoking, too many times.

My husband and 10 year old son were having a discussion/argument about somehting pointless that my son brought up. Eventually my husband said: "I am not having this stupid argument with you." To which my son responded: "Dad, I started the argument, you added the stupid."

They didn't say anything but tonight my son (5), his sister (19 months) and I were fighting/wrestling, my son says to me "come on mom fight like a man", I replied "how exactly does a man fight", he responded with "you know with karate chops and kicks", so I said to his sister "come on Adrianna let's show him how a girl can fight", she immediately pulled his hair, I couldn't help but laugh!
2.5 year old gave me a big hug and said you're my best friend. I put on her socks and she says "Thank you loveee". It's just sweet that she is so loving with her words even with simple things like putting on socks.
She's been watching birthing videos lately as I'm doing some midwifery work and she told me that she's going to be there when 'our' baby comes (I'm pregnant) oh and she's going to wear gloves (like the midwives in the videos). I suppose she plans on catching!!

My 5yr old came home from school today and got a letter from Santa saying his elves have been watching and said he was on the good list.
He then paused and said so I guess Colby & Austin must be on the naughty list they don't have letters from Santa. BAHAHA
My oldest 2 didn't get any because they are 13 & 14.
