wow! With my first baby I couldn't get enough malt o meal... chocolate and ice cream. With the second it was BBQ sauce on EVERYTHING, eggs, toast, chicken, potatoes, veggies...eww. With the third baby i ate spoonfuls of peanut butter right out of the jar and tons and tons of fresh fruit. Watermelon and pineapple especially. Baby number four brought out the olives and pickles, just out of the jar and by the jar. Green olives, stuffed olives, jalapeno olives, you name it. Sweet pickles, hot pickles, oh! And bacon and peanut butter sandwiches!

I also was pukey through every pregnancy and random smells could totally throw me off.

I never had gross cravings... with my first it was homemade Rice Krispie treats made with marshmellow cream! I would eat a 9x13 pan just about everyday. With my second, it was cereal... for every meal!! And the third, it was no bake cookies and watermelon... which wouldn't have been a bad thing had it not been February!

One night I had a can of sweet peas and a root beer float! It was actually rather good though I haven't had it since.

My big craving in both my pregnancies was ice. I couldn't bare to be without some to crunch. I had to make sure that i kept refilling the ice cube trays! I was up in the night most nights just to go and eat some! The smell of curly fries made my stomach turn-still can't eat them now!

My entire pregnancy was pukey. I craved fruit mostly watermelon and grapes and the melon had to be pre-sliced and could only be purchased at Publix, on the other side of town. My hubby had to make late night runs at least 3x a week. My weirdest craving was ramen noodles and a PBJ sandwich with chocolate milk, as a single meal.....eeewww. I couldn't stand the smell of any meats cooking but I could eat it in small quantities without any problems. I ended up losing 10lbs btwn the nausea and the fruit, so overall I guess it was a healthy pregnancy :D

At first it was chinese food and lemons but after I ended up with gestational diabetes all I wanted was candy. It was horrible to not be able to eat it.

I had a very weird craving, I wanted to eat soil all the time, and i could stand the smell of my favorite foundation.

Wow!! How crazy! I think I've heard of that before..its like PICA or something?  I think it means you're not getting enough iron.  Did you talk to your doc about it? I'm just curious cause I've known anyone who's had it

as far as what made me sick..with the 1st one the 2nd through 4th month every morning either brushing my teeth or drinking OJ made me puke thn I was fin the rest of the day. With the 2nd child I was nauseated everyday til she was born but never puked. I don't think it was any smells or anything lik that. I sure was hard to eat accept for my canned asparagus of course (oh and dark chocolate dove ice cream bars)

borden's dutch chocolate ice cream, with hershey's syrup and sprinkled with cocoa crispies! YA THINK I MIGHT HAVE HAD GESTATIONAL DIABETES??? I do! With the first baby, it was oranges, tangerines, satsumas AND potted meat with mayo on white bread .

I mainly had craving for iced coffee....either from maccas or just the corner store. Everyday I had really bad craving for iced coffee and after I had my daughter (she is now 6 months) I dont have iced coffee anymore.

As far as smells go, I couldn't stand any cosmetics - shampoos, lotions, my hubby's aftershave - yuck. It had lasted about 4 months (I'm due in 5 wks). And cravings - roasted coffee beans.... It's not really about the taste, but the texture - the way it feels, when I crunch it... I know - crazy. Trying to eat only a little bit, so the baby doesn't develop some kind of weird addiction, lol.

Ive never really had any "weird" pregnancy cravings, just cravings for fast food and junk food lol (baaad).. Im due in 5 weeks, and I've actually started noticing my cravings getting alot healthier.. oddly enough.

And when it comes to smells, I can never get enough of the smell of bleach =S !! (also very badd) haha.

Nothing to outragious here.. but I HATE seafood.. and its the biggest craving Ive had in this pregnancy, which sucks cuz most of it I cant eat during pregnancy. My first child was watermelon.. I ate an entire large watermelon every day, I would cut it in half and scoop it out.. lol. By the way cheeze whiz and pickle sandwiches actually sound kindda good.. LOL. :P

With my first pregnancy I couldn't handle the smell or look of beef whatsoever....all I wanted was chicken...chicken...chicken. With my second pregnancy I couldn't handle the smell of anything that was deep fried. For the first pregnancy my weirdest craving was beef Yero's with hot sauce AND tzatziki...I think of it now and yuck....I cannot handle garlic with meat. With my second pregnancy my craving was for dill pickle chips with salsa....I know...again gross. I normally can't even stand dill pickle chips.

saurkraut, I had five kids and each gave me different cravings. the liver sausage we call it braunschweiger around here but same stuff can't stand it most of the time but ate it constantly when i was prego with my 1st, My second was fruit any fruit. my third was mushrooms with bleucheese dressing. my 4th alternated between orientle and mexican food. my fifth was pumpkin pie. I understand the pica especially ice chips means you're iron deficient and salty stuff could mean you are hyponatremic. chinese food often has ginger which alleviates nausea so whereever reasonable you should indulge you cravings. I never had morning sickness so there you have it.

Nothing too wild or bizarre, but in the pukey phases of both my pregnancies, I had to have chocolate pudding and cheese tortellini (NOT together :-) ). In fact one time when I sent my husband out to buy cheese tortellini, he couldn't find any and came back with chicken tortellini instead. I broke down crying!

I was also very smell-sensitive. Onions were bad, and garbage of any kind, and certain fried foods. One neighbor in our apartment building always cooked some sort of nasty sausage that smelled up the stairway, and it made me really sick every day.

I had a friend who liked bagels smothered in cream cheese and tobasco sauce. A lot of tobasco sauce.

I was a freak for citrus fruit. I stockpiled it. My daughter is 7 months old and I still have cans of peaches around that I never got to.

As far as smells, I was pretty ok. The only time I puked from a smell was when my husband, for some god forsaken reason, bought canned tamales at the store. When he heated them up in the microwave, it made me vomit. I will never let him live that down. I have banned them from our home forever!

I had PICA, and I craved snow ALL the time. I could sit outside of hours eating fistfuls of snow. My other gross craving- a bowl of strawberries, cubes of cheddar cheese, with sugar on top.

[deleted account]

Fried oysters, and I HATE oysters. But for some reason I really wanted them and they were pretty tasty.

Well I craved big mac sauce! If I could have had it on everything I would have, lol. I wanted it all the time. I know you really should eat to much fast food but I had bic macs like crazy....cuase it was the only way I could get the sauce, lol. I also craved poutine rapee.....it is a french acadian dish. It is a ball of potatoe with pork and onions in the middle. It looks like a big grey ball, lol....but it is sooooo good!

Oh and I also forgot to mention that my fiance will never ever let me live down..Hummus and liver spread..well didn't realize I wasn't suppose to have that til after I read in the baby book on what I shouldn't eat and this a week after I found out I was pregnant we went to our favorite Chinese buffet restaurant later I had a craving so I bought triskets and hummus and liver worse spread. The next morning I woke up in so much pain called my fiance at work he was just getting off work. So I met him down at the hospital and they took me in right away cause I was practically on the floor bent over in pain. Sure enough I leave my mark on the triage room. So I learned not to do that again but I will always be reminded of that crazy craving I had. P.S. Thank god My baby was ok cause of the pain I had maybe she didn't agree with what I ate.
