What was the recovery like after a C-section?

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and my doctor scheduled an ultrasound to check everything out and we found that I have minor plasenta coverage of my cervix. The Dr. said that it still has time to move away before the BIG DAY but if not than I will have to get a C-section. This is my first baby so I'm pretty nervous about the surgery and recovery if I have to have it done. Anyone have any advice?

It was hard after my first. It was an emergency c-section. I had complications and it made it so that I couldn't get out of bed with out help for 2 weeks.

My recovery after having my son went really well. It hurts, but I was able to get away with just IB profain and regular tylanol. I pushed my self too hard though and now my left side is still healing.

Make sure to have lots of help. Take the doctor seriously when they say only lift your baby. If you have stairs in your home, pick a floor and stick to it all day. The more you use your abdominal muscles the longer of a recovery you'll have, that included driving. A lot of people don't realize that they are using abdominal muscles while driving.

I also breastfed both children with no problems, so don't let anyone say that you can't because of a c-section.

Thank you for your help! Luckily I only have stairs in and out of my building so I won't have to deal with them much at all. I'm also glad to hear about the breast feeding fact because I definitley plan on breast feeding my little guy for a while. Did you breast feed right after you had your son? I hope so. :) Well anyways no matter what happens as long as both baby and I are healthy I guess that is all that matters. I will just deal with the rest as it comes.
