as a parent, what would you do if you hear on the news and read in the papers how a mother goes to a radio station to report of her 6years old missing child later for the child to be found dead killed by the driver who takes that child to school everyday.

i warned my friend about how her children 6,4 and 3 round about naked in the yard when her security man is living just in the corner of the yard.what if she is in the house busy the kids out on the yard alone playing worse when it is one of them alone playing ,i'm so scared the ideas the man will be having in his head(criminal minds!)?

The reason incidents like this end up on the news is because they are so rare. The vast majority of adults have pure motivations towards children. Obviously we need to take sensible precautions, but unless someone gives cause for concern because of something they say or do, then I'd not worry too much. Children should feel free to play in their own garden without fear.

My 3 kids (9,9, and 3) play outside together all the time w/out me. Granted, the 3 year old never goes out alone, but we also don't have our own yard. IMO, if you don't feel your kids are safe in their own yard... you need to move.

Am I understanding that a security man is living just in the corner of the yard...is that HER security man? Hired to provide security? Is the security specifically for her property...or does his security service stretch into the realm of protecting her? Does this protection cover the children? Is his home in the corner of her yard so he CAN watch and..........secure the children?
Should she hire a security man to watch the security man she has?

That's true Louise; i love the fresh air, plants and the flowers around me(which i planted) and my kids love being outside.
my point is that; now a days you cant tell what a person is thinking. i don't mind her kids playing outside but someone should supervise. kids don't think beyond danger.
this man COULD do things(God forbid) to this kids when no one is watching. i think kids should be kids but with our help and protection.

Is this man given you any cause for concern? If not then let children be children as long as they are supervised all the time. It is a sad world if we suspect everyone of being evil.
